Cola is one of the world's most popular soft drinks and has been an indispensable part of the beverage shelves in the supermarket for decades. Children in particular love cola and lemonades, which many parents do not like to see, after all, these drinks with their high sugar content are not without good reason considered fattening and caries causing. In recent years, however, more and more herbal lemonades have come onto the market, which are available as organic lemonades and reduced in sugar and which even the little ones taste good.
But there are also some other ways to make healthy and delicious lemonade with herbs from the home garden, which not only tastes good for children. One of the most interesting herbs with a very special taste is e.g. the cola herb that you can make a lot out of.
Taste like cola, healthy like herbs
The cola herb, also called camphor boar diamond, grows in Central Europe and Asia. The plant bears its name because of its shoot tips and the young leaves that smell and taste like cola. In addition to the interesting taste, the herb also has positive health effects, since it strengthens the stomach and promotes digestion. But be careful: older leaves taste bitter and should therefore not be harvested.
The great thing: since the herb tastes of cola, you can use it to make a healthy alternative to coke.
